Ellis B. Freatman, III
Ellis Freatman has been in practice since November of 1982. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 1979 and his juris doctor from U of Detroit in 1982. He was appointed by the Governor of Michigan in 1987 to the Michigan Municipal Bond Authority. He served on that commission for three years and was responsible for assisting municipalities and schools in obtaining bond financing for various projects and improvements.
Ellis concentrates his practice in the areas of business formation and litigation, real estate development, general civil litigation, domestic relations, estate planning, contracts and employment issues. Ellis represents the Ypsilanti Housing Commission as well as a number of condominium and homeowners associations, private landlords and real estate developers.
A native of Ypsilanti, Ellis continues to reside in the area with his wife of 28 years, Sara, and their youngest son, Bo, who is in High School. The couple’s other two children attend college and enjoy busy lives on the East coast.
